PDF Splitter
Split pages precisely.
Split PDF
Split a PDF by page or by ranges. 100% in your browser.
How this tool works
Splitting PDFs is the inverse of merging: take a single large file and break it into pieces. Typical cases: extract individual invoices from a monthly statement, separate chapters from a scanned book, split a multi-client contract into per-client files.
This tool supports two modes: 'one page per file' (for max granularity) and 'custom ranges' where you write syntax like '1-3, 5, 7-9' and get three files: pages 1-3, page 5, and pages 7-9. All in your browser, nothing uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
- What range syntax can I use?
- Commas separate groups, hyphens for ranges: '1-3, 5, 7-9' = three files. Individual pages: '1, 2, 5' = three single-page files. Reversed ranges aren't allowed ('5-3' errors).
- Does it preserve quality?
- Yes — copies binary pages without re-rendering. Images, vectors, signatures and fonts are preserved.
- Is there a size limit?
- Limited by browser RAM. PDFs up to 100 MB work fast. Larger ones may take 10-30 seconds.
- What about password-protected PDFs?
- Doesn't work if the PDF is encrypted. First remove the password with Adobe Acrobat or LibreOffice (you need to know it).
