Hollywood made you think bills are split with 20% tip without thinking. LATAM/Spain reality is 10-15% by country and service. In Argentina/Chile/Peru/Colombia, 10% is already a good tip. In Mexico convention is 10-15%, in Spain 5-10% (service included at many places). In US: 18-22%.

- Sit-down restaurant: 18-22%. Bar: $1-2 per drink. Delivery: 10-15% + flat $3-5. Uber: tip in-app. Hotel cleaning: $2-5/day.
- What about Spain?
- Service often included. If you want to leave something: 5-10% of total. At bars, round up the bill. Not mandatory.
- And LATAM?
- Argentina/Chile/Peru/Colombia: 10% of total. Mexico: 10-15% (closer to US because of convention). Brazil: 10% included by law in many restaurants (check 'serviço').
- How do I split a bill with different orders?
- If everyone ate similar: split equally. If one ate $5 and another $40: each pays their own + proportional tip. This calculator assumes equal split — for weighted, add manually.
